Enzo Sicuri The Monument is dedicated to Enzo Sicuri, parmisan clochard. It was realized by Maurizio Zaccardi in 2004 and placed in Piazzale della Macina, in Parma historical Centre. Enzo Sicuri was born in 1907, on October 30th, from Ubaldo and Elvira Alfieri, and he did a lot of different jobs, but all for a short period of time because he could not bear orders. Then, after meeting the anarchic philosopher Dante Spaggiari, he chose the stray life, picking up papers and cartons to give them to paper Company in exchange for very little money, just enough to eat once a day; to sleep was enough a box in a basement. When he reached 75 years old, he collapsed and he had to accept the sheltering into the Iraia, old people’s home. This is, shortly, the history of Sicuri, extraordinary man who represents a world of distinguished clochards, that now is over. "Gazzetta di Parma" |
